This approved COVID-19 PCR testing scheme is brought to you by Help with my visa! working in partnership with TLScontact and Agilis Health.
If you plan to travel overseas from the UK, you must check to see if you need to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test before you board your plane, ferry or train. You may also need to show this test result on arrival at your destination.
You can check the latest COVID-19 travel requirements for the European Union (EU) on the Re-open EU website. For other destinations, you should check directly on that country’s government or local embassy website for details.
If you want to book a COVID-19 PCR test for after your arrival in the UK, click here to view your options.
If you want to travel overseas from the UK you may need to show a negative COVID-19 test result under the ‘Fit to Fly’ scheme. This test result must:
> Be dated within 72 hours of your planned departure from the UK for PCR tests and within 48 hours of your planned departure for rapid antigen tests*
> Be from an approved, private laboratory
> Show a negative result for COVID-19
*check your destination country requirements to confirm as some countries require a test within 72 hours of your planned arrival, not departure
When you take a COVID-19 test under the Fit to Fly scheme you’ll be issued with an electronic certificate that certifies your test result. This certificate is emailed to you as soon as the test is complete.
Only private, approved laboratories can issue compliant COVID-19 test certificates – you cannot use a test performed by the NHS.
You must also check with your destination country whether they’ll accept a rapid antigen test or if they require a PCR test.
If your test result is negative, you must show your test certificate when requested by your airline, train operator, ferry company or at immigration control.
If your test is positive, you won’t be permitted to travel under the Fit to Fly scheme.
Help with my visa! is working in partnership with TLScontact and Agilis Health to offer compliant Fit to Fly COVID-19 tests for travel to the EU and other destinations.
To get started, click the ‘Book Now’ button and select the type of test you wish to purchase.
You’ll be re-directed to the Agilis Health website to complete your booking.
Securely enter your details and pay for your test. Each person travelling with you needs to take and pay for a test if they want a test result certificate.
The test package will be securely couriered to your address in the UK. Tests ordered before 15:00 will arrive by noon the following business day. Tests ordered after 15:00 will arrive one day later, again by noon.
You can purchase the test in advance of your travel but you must only take the test within 48 hours or 72 hours of your planned departure for it to be valid for travel – the timeframe depends upon whether you’re taking a rapid antigen test or a PCR test.
If you’ve taken a PCR test, you’ll need to send your test swab back to Agilis Health for processing.
Once you’ve taken your test, make sure you securely package the swab using the materials provided, and drop it off at a Royal Mail priority mailbox or arrange a collection from your home.
Agilis Health will process your swab and email you your test result and certificate within 48 hours of your test. If your test result is negative, you’re then free to travel overseas (subject to any other travel operator or destination country rules).
Rapid antigen tests don’t need to be sent away for processing – you go through the swabbing procedure over a video link with a qualified nurse and then show them the test result.
If the result is negative, Agilis Health will immediately issue you with a Fit to Fly certificate via email.
Because they can be taken remotely, rapid antigen tests are ideal for taking overseas before you return to the UK as you don’t then need to find a testing provider in your destination country.
The standard Agilis Health PCR test costs £170 per test if ordered more than 5 days before travel. You can also purchase a Last Minute service if you depart in less than 5 days’ time for £234 per person.
The standard rapid antigen test costs £72 if ordered more than 5 days before travel. You’ll get two rapid antigen tests in case one test is inconclusive, but only one Fit to Fly certificate.
Every member of your travel party needs to take a test if they’re travelling under the Fit to Fly scheme.
Payments are securely made online using a credit or debit card.
The Agilis Health laboratory holds all necessary certifications to provide valid PCR and rapid antigen test certificates under the Fit to Fly scheme. PCR test and rapid antigen test analysis is fulfilled by 20/30 Labs Ltd on behalf of Agilis Health.
