5 things Help with my visa! can do for you

Help with my visa! is a marketplace for immigration advice and visa services.

We connect you with vetted immigration and visa service firms who can help you with your visa and travel-related requirements.

We don’t provide any of these services directly, but rather we do so through our partner network – in much the same way Airbnb doesn’t provide you with your accommodation directly, but rather through its host network.

And we can expand the kind of services we offer if you need help with something you can’t find on our website.

Here are 5 things we can help you with today.

Get professional help preparing and submitting a visa application

Our core business is to help you find, book and securely pay for professional assistance when preparing a visa application, and to let you do this 100% online.

We have three main services lines:

  • Full Advice: this is the most comprehensive service we offer and includes advising you on which type of visa is best for you, telling you which supporting documents you need (and what information they need to contain), completing your visa application form for you, booking an appointment at your chosen visa application centre (if you need to attend one) and answering all your questions along the way. Where you need to submit scanned copies of your supporting documents, this task is also included in the service.
  • Application Checking Service: if you’ve prepared your visa application yourself but would like a professional to review everything before you submit it, you can use the Application Checking Service. You’ll get feedback on whether anything is missing, unclear or not needed so you can be confident your visa application is correctly prepared.
  • Biometric In-person Assistance: the biometric enrolment process can be daunting, so if you’d like a professional to accompany you to your appointment and handle any questions that arise, you can use the Biometric In-person Assistance service. Available in the UK only at this point, an experienced member of staff will meet you outside the visa application centre and assist you through the biometric enrolment process, as well as handling the submission of any supporting documents you need to provide.

Through a partnership with Agilis Health, we can also offer you approved COVID-19 PCR testing under both the Fit-to-Fly scheme to travel from the UK overseas, and the Test-to-Release scheme if you’re returning to the UK from overseas and wish to shorten your period of quarantine.

Compare visa service offerings and prices

You can search, compare, book and securely pay for immigration advice and visa services on the Help with my visa! website. We’re the only place you can do this – no other website gives you such transparency.

Many immigration advisors and visa services firms don’t even list their own prices online, but on Help with my visa! you can clearly see the price charged by each service provider listed on our website so you can find the best deal for you.

For each category of visa or service, we’ve indicated which service provider has the ‘best price’ for a single visa application.

compare visa services

We’ve also indicated where a service is the ‘best value’ for multiple visa applicants, such as where you’ll get discounts on the second visa applicant and/ or dependents.

Book and securely pay for a service online at any time

One of the biggest criticisms of traditionally finding professional help to prepare your visa application is that a lot of the process is still manual, involving a lot of telephone calls to different suppliers (during office hours only) and bouncing emails back and forth.

Help with my visa! is designed to eliminate this pain by letting you book and securely pay for an appointment with your chosen service provider 100% online. There’s no need to call anyone or provide any personal information upfront, you can simply select a service, choose a date and time that suits you and then make a secure payment at a time that suits you.

All payments made through Help with my visa! use the latest in secure payment technology, including Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) through both Stripe for payments by credit or debit card and PayPal.

Find you a service we don’t currently offer

We’re expanding the range of visa and travel-related services we offer at Help with my visa! and as the Global Pandemic starts to ease, that range will increase further.

However, if you need help with something that you can’t find on our website, please get in touch and tell us what you need. We’ll see if we can help.

This is exactly what Kathy did, when she contacted us through the Help with my visa! website asking for assistance filling a Travel Exemption Form for Australia.

Within 24 hours we were able to source this service from two of our partners, letting Kathy choose which service was right for her. She then booked an appointment online and was extremely pleased with the way the whole process worked.

Show you how to get work in the UK

A lot of questions we get relate to how to work in the UK.

For most people, you need a job offer from a Sponsor Licence holder first before you can apply for a UK work visa.

But there are exceptions.

So if you’d like to find out how to work in the UK, we have two resources available for you:

  • 9 ways to work in the UK (without needing a job offer first): this guide shows you how you can come to the UK to work without needing a job offer first. It’s much easier to find work in the UK if you’re already physically there and don’t require visa sponsorship, and this guide shows you the different ways you can do this.
  • How to Get Your Dream Job in the UK: if you do need visa sponsorship to work in the UK, we’ve got this detailed guide and comprehensive online course to show you exactly how to land your Dream Job in the UK. This course has been extremely effective at repeatedly landing skilled work in the UK, with people landing interviews at major healthcare providers, a 300k-a-year finance role with a global manufacturer, advisory roles at a Top 3 global strategy consultancy and more.

Many of the techniques we teach on the How to Get Your Dream Job in the UK have also succeeded at getting interviews and skilled work in places like the USA, Switzerland, Austria and Turkey. So if you’re interested in purchasing the course and using the core content to find work in a different country, contact us and let us know – we’ll see if we can do you a deal.

5 things Help with my visa! can’t unfortunately do for you

While we will do everything we can to help you with your visa application, we can’t realistically do everything.

So to avoid any misunderstandings, here are 5 things Help with my visa! can’t unfortunately do.

Get you a visa

In fact, no-one can ‘get you a visa’.

It’s just simply not possible to do this for any visa to any country.

You see, the only person that can issue you with a visa is the competent officer in charge of making the visa decision. These are government officials working for your country of application and they are the ones who decide whether to issue a visa or not.

What we can do at Help with my visa! is let you find and appoint a professional service provider to prepare your visa application for you. And as we fully vet all service providers we work with, you know the service you’ll receive is an excellent standard. That’s as much as any organisation can do.

Because no matter how well prepared your visa application is, government officials will look at other information before deciding whether to issue you a visa or not. This can include reviewing your travel history, performing criminal record background checks and doing other searches that we don’t have access to.

So we can certainly make sure you do your bit correctly by letting you find and appoint a professional immigration advice or visa services company to prepare your visa application, but the final decision on whether you will ‘get’ a visa always rests with the government official assessing your application.

Guarantee you a visa

For the reasons outlined above, Help with my visa! – and indeed, anyone else – can’t ‘guarantee you a visa’. We can help you find a professional immigration advisor or visa services company that we’ve vetted for their regulatory compliance, financial standing and high standard of customer service so that your visa application is correctly prepared, but we can’t ‘guarantee’ you a visa as there are many things outside of our control.

What we can do however, is guarantee that we’ll refund you 100% of the fees you’ve paid – both service fees and immigration advice fees – if your visa application is refused. Of course there are terms and conditions, such as:

  • You must correctly follow all advice given to you by your appointed immigration advisor or visa service firm
  • You must not omit or amend anything you’ve been asked to include in your visa application
  • Any reasons given for your visa refusal must be solely related to issues with the type of visa application you submitted or the way your visa application was prepared

We’re offering this guarantee on a selected range of UK visa services, and it’s clearly displayed near the ‘Book Now’ button at the top of each service page.

help with my visa money back guarantee

The 100% Help with my visa! Money-back Guarantee is only available on services booked through our website and isn’t available if you book with one of our partners directly.

Provide you with a service for free

We offer high-quality, professional services through Help with my visa! using only experienced immigration advisors and visa services firms. The people who provide you with these services have trained for years, and may also hold professional qualifications or regulatory compliance roles.

They do not provide their services for free.

Depending upon the type of service you need, you can expect to pay upwards of GBP 100 + VAT or other applicable taxes for a visa service.

Many of the more complex visa application types (such as long-term immigration, residency and citizenship) cost GBP 1000 plus VAT or other applicable taxes.

Some visa services run into the thousands or tens of thousands of pounds.

The bottom line is that immigration advice and visa services aren’t for everyone. People typically use these services when they:

  • Are unsure how to proceed with their visa application
  • Simply cannot afford to make a mistake
  • Don’t have the time to prepare it themselves
  • Would rather a professional handle it
  • Are being sponsored by someone else

So please don’t expect to find any services on Help with my visa! for free.

However, if you find yourself needing help with a visa application but can’t afford to pay for it, you should check out local charities in your area (and in the UK, the Citizens Advice Bureau) to see if they can help.

Sponsor your visa

Some types of visa require sponsorship. The five main types of visa sponsorship – and the kind of expected sponsor – are:

  • Visitor visas (including Business visas): the person inviting you to the country is acting as your sponsor. They may or may not also be supporting you financially. This person will be known to you and you’ll need to prove your relationship
  • Study visas: the educational institution that has given you an offer of study will sponsor your study visa. This is typically a university, college or school
  • Work visas: the business offering you a job will sponsor your work visa. Be alert if one business is offering to sponsor your work visa application but you’ll be employed by a different business – this is a red flag and something you should clarify the legality of independently (such as by using an immigration advisor for a visa consultation).
  • Spouse or Dependent visa: when you apply for an immigration-type visa there’s typically a lead applicant (i.e. the person with the main claim for residence, such as the person offered a job) and dependents. Dependents are people such as spouses (which may also include civil partners, fiancé(e)s and unmarried partners) and financially dependent children. Sometimes financially dependent elderly parents may also be dependents. The lead applicant therefore acts as a sponsor for their dependents, so relationships must be established and applications must be made together.
  • Special category visas: for certain special category visas you may need the sponsorship or ‘endorsement’ of an approved body. This applies to visas such as the UK Global Talent visa and Tier 1 Investor visa

To sponsor a work visa, businesses typically need a licence to do so. This is the case in the UK, where any business wanting to employ a visa national must be a Home Office Sponsor Licence holder.

Help with my visa! is not a Home Office Sponsor Licence holder and is not currently recruiting. We therefore cannot sponsor your work visa application or any other type of visa application.

Help you if you’re not clear what you want

If you’re thinking about moving overseas and want to find out more about immigration opportunities, the best places to look for background information are government websites and the websites of your local embassy or consulate.

These websites are generally very informative and tell you the basics about what you need to know if you want to go and live in that country.

Some popular websites include:

It’s a massive decision to decide to move to a different country. It needs to be the right choice for you personally, professionally and financially. And yes it’s natural to consider different destinations, but by the time you’re in a position to apply for a visa you should have made up your mind where you wish to go and what you wish to do there.

So if you contact us asking for information about, say, work and study visas in the UK and Canada, it shows you need to do some more background research before using the services we offer.

Because the only person who can tell you what’s right for you, is you.

If you’d like to know more specifically about a certain visa route before you decide, we do offer visa consultation services for UK visas. On these calls – which last up to an hour – you can have your suitability for a UK visa assessed and leave with a clearer view of your position.

We can offer similar consultations for other destinations too, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for I suggest you contact us with your needs and we’ll see what we can do to find a service for you.

How to find out if we can do something not covered here

If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the Help with my visa! website, the best thing to do is get in touch. You can do this in one of two ways:

  • Leave a message: on our website you can click the ‘? Help’ button at the bottom of the screen and leave us a short message. We’ll then get back to you as soon as we can, which is usually within a couple of hours during the UK working day or next business day if you message us outside of these times.
  • Reply to an email: when you sign up to the Help with my visa! mailing list you also get access to the personal email of our Founder and CEO, Gareth Richards. You can email Gareth at any time by replying to any of the emails he sends, and he’ll respond within one business day.

We hope this helps give you a better understanding of what we can and can’t do.

Applying for a visa can be extremely complicated, but it’s usually a means to an end – you want to take up a job offer in another country, study abroad or go somewhere on holiday – so you’ll get the most value out of what we can offer the clearer you can be with your purpose for travel.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
